It is our great pleasure to invite you to the World Halal Summit Halal Congress 2026 organized within the framework of the 12th World Halal Summit (WHS), to be held under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, under the theme of “Sustainable Halal Economy: Eliminating Waste, Empowering Growth” on 25–27 November 2026 at the Istanbul Expo Center, Istanbul, Türkiye.
The Summit will be held concurrently with the Halal Expo 2026 (25–28 November 2026) and is jointly organized by Discover Events, in association with the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), an affiliated institution of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and Lokman Hekim University.
Bringing together academia, industry, government institutions, and international organizations, this landmark event will serve as a global platform for advancing the Halal ecosystem through collaboration, innovation, and knowledge exchange.
Together, the 12th World Halal Summit and the Halal Expo 2026 will provide a unique opportunity for researchers, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders to exchange expertise and explore emerging developments across the diverse sectors of the Halal economy, including Halal awareness, zero-waste, Halal food and beverages, Halal industry technologies, cosmetics and personal care, pharmaceuticals, tourism, Islamic finance, modest fashion, logistics, Halal quality infrastructure, and other related industries.
In the previous edition of the World Halal Summit, we proudly welcomed 48 distinguished international speakers from 16 countries across 10 insightful sessions, each dedicated to advancing the global Halal industry and ecosystem through knowledge sharing, meaningful discussions, and strategic dialogue.
The scientific programme, WHS Halal Congress 2026, will feature distinguished keynote speakers, plenary lectures, panel discussions, technical sessions, and scientific presentations addressing the most pressing challenges and emerging opportunities within the global Halal industry. Participants will have the opportunity to share cutting-edge research, discuss innovative solutions, establish international collaborations, and contribute to shaping the future of the sustainable Halal economy.
Guided by this year’s theme, “Sustainable Halal Economy: Eliminating Waste, Empowering Growth,” the Summit aims to promote sustainable production and consumption, responsible resource management, circular economy approaches, technological innovation, and resilient Halal value chains that support long-term economic growth and societal well-being.

Sustainability, resource efficiency, the zero-waste approach, and the circular economy are shaping the future of the halal ecosystem. In this context, the Congress will serve as an international platform to promote the scientific exchange of knowledge, strengthen global collaboration, and advance sustainable solutions across the halal economy.
The programme will bring together academics, researchers, policy and decision-makers, and industry leaders. Alongside keynote lectures by internationally renowned experts, it will feature oral and poster presentation sessions as well as industry-led special sessions. The congress programme runs an academic track built on peer-reviewed research and an industry-led sectoral track for professionals of the halal ecosystem.
Applications will not be accepted for both the academic and the sectoral track. Only one track may be applied to.
Oral and poster presentations selected through double-blind peer review, invited academic lectures, submission guidelines, key dates and participant categories.
